Senior Risk Officer
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Risk Officer. This role involves the evaluation, identification, and mitigation of risks associated with our operations to ensure our company’s financial stability.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Risk Officer
- Develop and maintain the annual ORSA Report and other risk reporting documents (SFCR, RSR, QRTs) for both Life and Non-Life entities.
- Assist with ALCO and RICO (Asset Liability Committee / Risk Committee) by preparing agendas, gathering and preparing supporting documents, and writing meeting minutes.
- Help design and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs).
- Aid first-line risk owners in consistently applying the Risk Management Framework to identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report all significant risks.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and quality reviews.
- Maintain and develop policies in accordance with the relevant governance framework.
- Build and sustain positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to achieve key objectives.
- Foster a strong risk awareness culture throughout the company.
Essential Skills and Qualifications for a Senior Risk Officer
- Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Preferably, 6 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the insurance industry.
- Strong reporting abilities, a high level of independence, and familiarity with financial markets, actuarial calculations, and insurance concepts (both Life and Non-Life).
- Extensive experience in risk management and a solid understanding of local and Solvency II regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience in drafting internal policies, documenting processes, and managing risks and controls.
- Fluent in English and French; German is an asset for communication with the Head Office.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret actuarial and financial data.
- Team player, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in IT, particularly in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
