Quality Control Manager
Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Quality Control Manager to join our dynamic team. In this leadership position, you will oversee all quality assurance and quality control processes, ensuring our standards of excellence are met across all aspects of production and service delivery. The successful candidate will implement robust quality management systems, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and play a key role in compliance, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication. Key Responsibilities – Quality Control, Assurance, and Improvement
- Quality Management:
- Develop, maintain, and optimise quality control systems in line with industry best practice and regulatory requirements.
- Set quality benchmarks, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent product and service excellence.
- Conduct regular audits, reviews, and assessments of products, processes, and documentation.
- Continuous Improvement & Risk Management:
- Initiate and lead quality improvement projects to reduce defects, optimise processes, and improve efficiency.
- Facilitate root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and track the effectiveness of improvements.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks related to quality, compliance, and product safety.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor quality control staff, promoting professional growth and best practices.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with production, engineering, supply chain, and management teams to resolve quality challenges.
- Provide clear reporting and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Represent the company in audits with regulatory bodies, clients, and third-party assessors.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all operations comply with applicable standards (e.g. ISO, BRC, GMP) and legal requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving regulations affecting quality and safety.
Qualifications – Skills, Experience & Knowledge for Quality Control Management
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years’ relevant experience in a quality control, quality assurance, or manufacturing operations role, with proven success in team leadership.
- Comprehensive understanding of quality management systems and methodologies (such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to lead root cause analysis, implement solutions, and monitor outcomes.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Experience with audit facilitation and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to champion change and inspire a culture of continuous improvement.
