Field Engineer – Underground Utility Construction
Overview
We are actively seeking a skilled and motivated Field Engineer to join a leading company in the underground utility construction sector. As a Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting project execution, maintaining high-quality standards, and facilitating smooth communication between field crews and management.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution Support
- Assist in planning, layout, and execution of underground utility construction projects.
- Interpret and implement construction drawings, specifications, and work plans accurately.
Technical Oversight
- Provide on-site technical guidance and support to crews and subcontractors.
- Ensure strict compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Quality Assurance
- Monitor and inspect construction work to maintain quality control and adherence to project specifications.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving field issues related to design, materials, or installation.
Coordination & Communication
- Serve as a liaison between project management, design teams, and field crews to ensure seamless project progression.
- Communicate project status, progress updates, and any concerns to senior engineers and supervisors promptly.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of field activities, daily reports, and materials usage.
- Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and project closeout documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of hands-on field experience in underground utility construction or a similar role.
- Strong familiarity with underground utility systems such as water, sewer, gas, and electrical networks.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience with survey equipment, GPS technology, and CAD software is highly advantageous.
- Solid knowledge of OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
