Lighting Department Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all facets of the department in a high-pressure, live production setting, ensuring smooth operations and alignment with overarching production objectives.
- Develop, implement, and uphold departmental policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain excellence and foster ongoing enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and technical teams to coordinate and align strategies that meet production demands.
- Lead, guide, and assess team members by providing training and nurturing a cooperative and supportive workplace culture.
- Manage inventory, maintenance, and allocation of equipment and resources, ensuring preparedness under strict deadlines while promoting innovation.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, documenting equipment status, maintenance, and departmental activities accurately.
- Diagnose, address, and resolve technical issues; prepare detailed reports for senior leadership; stay updated on industry advancements to optimize operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in English, exhibiting strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managerial or supervisory roles within live production, broadcasting, or related technical environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant equipment, systems, technical methodologies, and safety regulations.
- Proven leadership with experience in team development and performance management.
- Strong organizational abilities with capacity to handle multiple tasks, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills facilitating collaboration across departments and clear reporting to senior management.
- Proactive, innovative, adaptable to changing conditions.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to support continuous operations.
