System Architect / Engineer - RFID
We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking System Architect / Engineer with deep expertise in RFID technologies to join an innovative semiconductor business unit. The successful candidate will define system architecture and functionality for next-generation RFID IC products, ensuring seamless integration into evolving global RFID ecosystems.
This role combines technical depth, industry engagement, and cross-functional collaboration, offering the opportunity to directly shape how advanced RFID solutions are designed, implemented, and adopted worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain system-level product requirements and device specifications for RFID IC products.
- Collaborate with IC design teams to translate functional requirements into practical hardware implementation.
- Develop and maintain high-level functional models (e.g., in Python) linking architecture to hardware behaviour.
- Monitor and analyse RFID standards, market trends, and competitive technologies to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Engage with standards development organizations and actively participate in key industry forums.
- Conduct detailed performance analyses, including timing, power consumption, and overall system efficiency.
- Support product management and sales teams by articulating technical features and system-level benefits.
- Deliver technical training and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the company as an RFID subject matter expert at conferences, trade shows, and client meetings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth integration of RFID solutions within broader systems and customer use cases.
- Identify and implement design and process improvements that enhance system performance and reliability.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in system engineering, IC design, or product management within the semiconductor industry.
- Hands-on experience with RFID technologies including tags, readers, and protocols such as EPC Gen2 and NFC.
- Deep understanding of the UHF and NFC RFID ecosystems - from tag to reader to software integration.
- Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to translate complex use cases into system and device-level specifications.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Fluent in French and English; other languages are an asset.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for conferences, client meetings, and industry events.
