Interim Power BI & Data Build Tool Specialist
For our client, a leading semi-public organisation in the Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced Interim Power BI & Data Build Tool Specialist to strengthen the Data & Analytics function.
This is a hands-on interim assignment focused on building high-quality data products, dashboards and datasets that support data-driven decision-making across the organisation. You will work in a hybrid setup within a mature data environment, collaborating closely with business users, engineers and analytics professionals.
The role is ideal for a senior BI specialist who enjoys combining technical depth with user-oriented data solutions.

Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, often in close collaboration with end users.
Prepare, transform and model data by designing and maintaining robust ETL pipelines, aligned with data platform architecture principles.
Develop and maintain datasets for both standard reporting and self-service BI.
Support business users in using self-service Power BI solutions effectively.
Perform technical testing, code reviews and quality checks based on the four-eyes principle.
Conduct in-depth data analyses and proactively identify opportunities to improve data products and processes.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business questions into scalable data solutions.
Work as part of an Agile (Scrum) data team, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO / WO) in Business, IT, Business Information Management or a related field.
3+ years of proven experience designing, building and deploying Power BI reports in a production environment.
5+ years of experience with data modelling, ETL processes and SQL.
Hands-on, demonstrable experience with:
Power BI Premium
Data Build Tool (DBT)
Databricks
Azure Data Factory
Git version control
CI/CD pipelines (Microsoft DevOps)
Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
Strong analytical mindset with experience in Big Data, data processing and Machine Learning models.
Proactive, independent and result-oriented working style with strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills in Dutch.
Available from 1 February 2026 for at least 36 hours per week.
Willing to work on-site 2 days per week and to undergo a background check (VOG).
