We are looking for an experienced Business Controller to take ownership of the financial management and controlling of a dedicated product portfolio within an international business environment.

The role combines cost controlling, budgeting, forecasting, SAP, financial reporting and data analysis, with significant exposure to product performance, contract manufacturing and strategic financial decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the financial performance and profitability of assigned products and portfolios.

• Analyse product costs, including raw materials, manufacturing and tolling costs, to identify efficiencies and improve gross margins.

• Prepare monthly, semi-annual and annual actuals, forecasts and budgets.

• Perform variance analysis across gross margin and other key financial indicators.

• Manage monthly Material Ledger reconciliations in SAP, including inventory valuation, third-party manufacturing variances and COGS revaluation.

• Review and validate transfer-pricing updates and ensure changes are correctly reflected within invoicing processes.

• Analyse intercompany and third-party contracts from a financial perspective in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

• Maintain and improve controlling procedures, documentation and internal controls.

• Manage and analyse large financial datasets using relational databases and querying tools.

• Maintain licensing-related reporting and contribute to improvements in reporting tools.

• Participate in cross-functional projects, including ERP and finance-process improvement initiatives.

• Support the continuous standardisation and optimisation of business-controlling processes.

• Provide financial analysis and data-driven insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant controlling experience within an industrial, commercial or international trading environment.

• Strong knowledge of SAP, ideally ECC 6.0 and/or S/4HANA, with exposure to the Controlling (CO) module.

• Proven experience building and querying relational databases, using SQL, MS Access or equivalent tools.

• Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost controlling and management reporting.

• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work confidently with large financial datasets.

• Experience working with third-party manufacturers/CMOs or supply-chain controlling is a strong advantage.

• Knowledge of standard cost accounting and product profitability analysis.

• Knowledge of transfer-pricing methodologies is an advantage.

• Highly organised, proactive and results-oriented, with the ability to work autonomously.

• Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively across different organisational levels.

• Fluent English, minimum B2 level, is essential.

• Italian and/or another major European language is an advantage.
